Telephone counselling
It is more usual for counselling to take place in person, as there are nuances of body language and intuitive communication that only occur when in the same room as the client. This having been said, there can also be a great benefit to counselling by telephone (especially if the alternative is no counselling at all). In addition, some clients appreciate the added privacy of telephone counselling, which is helpful where eye-to-eye contact may be uncomfortable.
